A City at Work – at the Carnegie-Stout library

December 1, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

On Sunday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m., stop by the Carnegie-Stout Public Library for a free event that combines photography with local history.

Enjoy a presentation from Dubuque photographer Tim Olson,  Mike Gibson from the Center for Dubuque History, and Kristin Anderson-Bricker, professor of history at Loras College.

They will discuss two new books:

A City at Work, Dubuque 1912 by Tim Olson and Mike Gibson, features essays about and prints from a collection of glass plate negatives taken in 1912 and housed in the Loras College Center for Dubuque History. A photography exhibit will also be held at the Dubuque Museum of Art in January 2020.

A City at Work: Dubuque, 2012 by Tim Olson contains his photos of the same locations 100 years later.

This event is free and open to the public. Copies of the books will be available for purchase. Here’s more information about the books.
