SUMMARY:Photoshoot at Eagle Point Park
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, October 11\, 2020\, the Dubuque Camera Club will hold a fall photoshoot at Eagle Point Park. Bring your camera and gear. Social distancing and/or mask requirements will be followed. \nWe will meet at 3:00 p.m. at the back entrance to the park. Click here to see a map.  There are some exceptional views upriver on the way to the park’s rear entrance\, which is located on Eagle Point Drive. \nYou can also get there by going through the main entrance (2601 Shiras Ave.)\, to the parking lot by the fish pond\,  located on the far northwest side of the park.  Park admission is $1. \nThis is a self-guided photoshoot\, and we will be wandering through the park.  End time is whenever\, so if the weather is good\, come when you can. We hope for good weather and fall colors.

This time\, the theme is “Looking Up.”  \nPatricia Lehnhardt is in charge of organizing the virtual exhibit. She answered a couple of questions below. DESCRIPTION:The Dubuque Camera Club will hold a Night Meeting and Photo Shoot on Monday\, July 6th at 7:30 p.m. (Note later start time). \nWe will gather in-person at an outdoor venue\, and then travel to a nearby spot for a night photo shoot. Bring tripod\, flashlight\, and remote trigger release\, along with your fastest\, wide-angle lense\, such as F2.8 or F4. The club plans to shoot the Milky Way\, the Moon\, and do some light painting. \nOptional: Bring your own supper or snacks/drinks\, and mosquito repellent or lawn chair or whatever you can carry to be comfortable at an outdoor photo shoot. \nSee the June 1 Meeting Notes for tutorial suggestions.  Club members: Watch your email for complete details and meeting location.

DESCRIPTION:Due to coronavirus concerns\, the LAPC spring photography event has been postponed to September 19 and 20\, 2020.\n\nThe Linn Area Photography Club in Cedar Rapids was scheduled to hold its annual Spring Photography Event on April 25-26. This event has been postponed to September 19-20\, 2020. \nDay #1 will feature two presentations: Tamron rep Jillian Bell will talk about macro/closeup photography\, followed by a presentation on light painting by Roger Feldhans. Cost for the day is $30 which includes lunch. \nDay #2 will be your choice of either a hands-on macro workshop or a light painting workshop. They are led by the two presenters from the previous day. DESCRIPTION:The Dubuque Camera Club meeting on Monday\, March 16\, 2020 is CANCELLED.\nWe are sorry\, but the Dubuque Camera Club meeting that was scheduled for Monday\, March 16 has been cancelled. \nThe Iowa DNR is restricting use of their facilities during the coronavirus pandemic\, so we cannot meet in the nature center.  In addition\, the City of Dubuque has recommended practicing “social distancing” to prevent the spread of the virus. This means people should avoid meeting in large groups when possible\, in order to keep our family and loved ones safe! \nPlease protect yourself and your loved ones from the spread of illness by following these guidelines from the CDC. \nClub members: You are encouraged to take Still Life photos at home and post the images to the club’s Facebook group. We’d love to see your creative images! \n\nHere’s a collection of ideas.\nHere’s still life advice from Adobe.\nHere’s some technical advice that talks about lighting.\nCheck this site for examples on a dark background.\nLook at 35 examples.\nSee lots more still life examples here.

DESCRIPTION:The Dubuque Camera Club will judge the Digital Pictorial category of the N4C competition at the club meeting on Monday\, February 24\, 2020. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. \nTHIS MEETING WAS RESCHEDULED DUE TO WEATHER AND ILLNESS ON FEB. 17. \nSee past winners from Digital Pictorial. \nOur club judges an N4C category about three times a year. You are encouraged to attend judging nights to learn how the judging process works and to see a lot of great images! \nWe will be looking at images from other N4C-affiliated clubs. Three active\, experienced Dubuque Camera Club members will be needed as volunteer judges. \nNote that the N4C rules have changed\, and the scoring system is changing too! It can be very confusing\, so if you would like to understand the judging process\, be sure to read the rules on their website.
