DESCRIPTION:Due to coronavirus concerns\, the LAPC spring photography event has been postponed to September 19 and 20\, 2020.\n\nThe Linn Area Photography Club in Cedar Rapids was scheduled to hold its annual Spring Photography Event on April 25-26. This event has been postponed to September 19-20\, 2020. \nDay #1 will feature two presentations: Tamron rep Jillian Bell will talk about macro/closeup photography\, followed by a presentation on light painting by Roger Feldhans. Cost for the day is $30 which includes lunch. \nDay #2 will be your choice of either a hands-on macro workshop or a light painting workshop. They are led by the two presenters from the previous day. DESCRIPTION:The Dubuque Bald Eagle Watch will be held on Saturday\, January 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Grand River Center in the Port of Dubuque. Enjoy live raptor presentations and meet other people who love nature and wildlife during a free family event organized by the Dubuque Audubon Society. \nOur club will have an informational table in the vendor area\, including a slide show of member photos. Vendors will have wildlife art\, books\, and nature items available for purchase. Park at the Grand River Center and hop on the shuttle to get the full experience of the Eagle Watch\, using an environmentally friendly mode of transportation. SUMMARY:Mark Hirsch at Inspire Cafe
DESCRIPTION:Photographer Mark Hirsch will speak at Inspire Cafe in the Historic Millwork District on Thursday\, November 8\, 2018\, as part of  the Inspiring People Series. He will share “Shades of Wisdom” about the lessons he learned from photographing That Tree. \nWhile recovering from a car accident\, Hirsch spent a year taking daily smartphone photos of a Burr Oak tree in rural Platteville.  His work was initially featured in Voices from the Warehouse and then found success in many other exhibitions. \nHe published a book of photography\, That Tree\, and has gone on a successful speaking tour. He’s been interviewed for a number of national media outlets\, such as CBS News (click here for story).  Formerly a staff photographer for the Dubuque Telegraph-Herald\, Hirsch is a freelance photographer.
