March 17th Meeting
A small slide presentation was shared by Ellie and Cara on macro photography. Lisa was out of town and Dewayne was sick and unable to share their part of the presentation. Adam followed up with a presentation utilizing the following software:

Group activity was with about 3 tables with different macro items on them for club members to take photos of and help each other with.

Please welcome three new members for February 2014: Kevin McTague, Alyssa Hall, and Nathan Roling all of Dubuque.

It was also mentioned to keep in mind the up coming show at the Dubuque Museum of Art and to start looking for you image submissions with the theme being “Dubuque through the lens – A camera club perspective.”

Congratulations Ron, Gary, and Jennifer!

We then went through all of the submissions for March. We have room for more submissions in every category including black and white (and we only get to submit black and white twice a year) so if you would like to enter any of your photographs please send them to Elenor Schueller ASAP.

At the March 17th meeting we will be diving into the world of macro photography. We will have several members presenting different ways to capture and create macro shots. Depth of field and macro photography go hand in hand so if you have any questions about either of these then be sure to attend our meeting on the 17th. The macro presentation will be hands on so please bring:

Your camera
Your tripod if you have one
Yourself :)

Spring is coming!

February 17th Meeting
Our meeting for February 17th was all about how to create images with an edge. Adam led a discussion on HDR or high dynamic range using both Photomatix and Photoshop.

Our attendance has been low for the last couple of months due to all of our extreme weather. I hope to see many members at our March 3rd meeting.

March 3-Black and White Submissions – this is anything, any category only in black and white. We only get to do this a few times a year so take advantage of this opportunity. Contests for March also include: DC, DJ, DN, DP, DT. Also bring entries for 2×2 slides – any category.

Our club is growing and we hope to meet the needs and wants of all our members, so as always, email me with any questions or comments.
Stay warm and keep your camera out and creating!

Cheers,
Lisa
